For assessing the stability of various types of chairs suitable for use by adults weighing up to 110 kg, refer to the DIN EN 1022 standard. Regardless of the design, manufacturing method, or materials employed, the standard is applicable to any seating. The established test procedures and specifications aid in guaranteeing that seating is secure and stable for users up to the established weight limit.
In order to test the stability of seating for youngsters or heavier adults, this standard also permits modifications to test loads and loading locations. However, it expressly leaves out other sitting options, including bath seats, table-mounted chairs, and children's highchairs, as these are covered by different European Standards.
