Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-30: Particular Requirements for Room Heaters
Also Known As:
A standard called IEC 60335-2-30:2009+A1:2016+A2:2021 is concerned with the security requirements for electric room heaters used in homes and other similar situations. Convection heaters, fan heaters, greenhouse heaters, liquid-filled radiators, panel heaters, radiant heaters, tube heaters, and ceiling-mounted heat lamp appliances are all covered by the standard.
In comparison to the previous version, the standard's most recent edition includes a number of changes. For heaters put on the floor, in bathrooms, or without built-in thermostats, there are additional instructions included. For appliances that have a grille and are integrated into the floor, a spillage test is also added.
The standard stresses the significance of giving manufacturers and testing organizations time to adapt to the new criteria and carry out the required tests. It is advised that the standard be implemented nationally no earlier than 12 months and no later than 36 months after it was published.
This standard must be studied in conjunction with IEC 60335-1, which outlines general safety specifications for home appliances and other comparable electrical devices.
