The publication of a new or revised version of the standard may necessitate a transition period for manufacturers and testing organizations in order to comply with the updated requirements and carry out the required tests. Within 12 to 36 months after its release, it is advised that this publication be adopted nationally. IEC 60335-1:2010 must be read in combination with this specification. There is no need to order any additional amendments because this consolidated version already includes the third edition (2012) and its amendments 1 and 2.
