Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-96: Particular Requirements for Flexible Sheet Heating Elements for Room Heating
Also Known As:
A safety standard called IEC 60335-2-96:2002+AMD1:2003+AMD2:2008 CSV particularly talks about the need for flexible sheet heating elements used for room heating in homes and other electrical equipment. For single-phase installations, the standard includes heating elements with a rated voltage of up to 250 V, and for other installations, up to 480 V.
It's crucial to note that this standard does not include heated blankets, pads, or mats (which are covered by IEC 60335-2-17 and IEC 60335-2-81, respectively). The flexible heating elements built into other appliances and under-the-carpet heaters are also not included in the specification.
The corrigendum's content was incorporated into the standard in May 2003. The standard's initial edition (2002), amendment 1 (2003), and amendment 2 (2008) are all included in the condensed version. Therefore, as they are already included in this publication, there is no need to order new amendments.
