Household electric cooking appliances - Part 1: Ranges, ovens, steam ovens, and grills - Methods for measuring performance
Also Known As:
The performance of household electric cooking appliances, including ranges, ovens, steam ovens, and grills, can be measured using the procedures described in IEC 60350-1:2016. It applies to ovens with or without a microwave function, and manufacturers are required to state whether the appliance's primary cooking function relies on thermal heat or the microwave.
The standard outlines the key user-interesting performance parameters of these appliances and offers instructions for measuring them. It doesn't offer a performance categorization or ranking.
Compared to the first edition, this standard's second edition has undergone a number of technical changes. New definitions for "set to off mode" and "set to standby mode," modernized techniques for calculating the mass of the appliances, enhanced clarity and additional temperature requirements for specific procedures, updates for measurements of steam ovens, and modifications to measurement tools and annexes are among these changes.
The standard has also been updated to include a helpful annex for calculating cooling-down time consumption and verifying microwave energy usage during measurement. Guidelines for marking the temperature setting to check the oven temperature are provided in another new appendix.
