Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-27: Particular Requirements for Appliances for Skin Exposure to Ultraviolet and Infrared Radiation
Also Known As:
2012+AMD1 IEC 60335-2-27 The safety standards for electrical devices that emit UV or infrared radiation for skin exposure are the focus of the CSV standard. It applies to appliances with a rated voltage of up to 480 volts for other appliances and 250 volts for single-phase appliances that are used in homes or other similar situations. Appliances used in beauty salons, tanning salons, and similar businesses are likewise covered by the standard.
Comparing this edition of the standard to the previous one, adjustments and clarifications have been made. It offers a clearer method for detecting radiation and offers instructions for a schedule of exposure times in an annex. Manufacturers and testing organizations might need a transitional period to follow the new regulations, carry out the required tests, and make the necessary adjustments.
Within 12 to 36 months of the publication date, national committees should adopt and put the standard into practice. There is no need to order the amendment individually because the fifth edition (2009) and its amendment 1 (2012) are both included in one consolidated version. It is also encouraged to read IEC 60335-1:2013, which addresses general safety regulations for home appliances and other comparable electrical devices, in addition to this book.
