Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-29: Particular Requirements for Battery Chargers
Also Known As:
A safety regulation known as IEC 60335-2-29:2002+A1:2004+A2:2009 is specific to electric battery chargers intended for home use. These chargers are made to emit a low voltage, often no higher than 250 V. The standard also applies to battery chargers used in other environments, including farms, light industries, garages, and stores.
The fourth edition from 2002, together with its amendments 1 and 2 from 2004, and 2009, are all included in this version of the standard, which is a consolidated one. Therefore, as they are already included in this publication, there is no need to order these revisions separately.
By establishing standards and test procedures for many characteristics such as electrical insulation, protection against electric shock, protection against thermal overload, and mechanical strength, this standard ensures the safety of battery chargers. By adhering to this standard, battery chargers are made safer for usage in homes and other designated areas.
