Standard EN SampleHousehold and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-4: Particular Requirements for Spin Extractors
Also Known As:
2008+AMD1:2012+AMD2:2017 IEC 60335-2-4 The safety standards for spin extractors used in home appliances and other comparable electrical devices are expressly covered by the CSV standard. These spin extractors, which have a separate container for spin extraction and a maximum capacity of 10 kg of dry cloth, are generally found in washing machines. For single-phase appliances, the rated voltage cannot exceed 250 V, while for other appliances, it cannot exceed 480 V.
This standard aligns the text with the standards stated in IEC 60335-1:2001 and its Amendments 1 and 2 in order to assure the safety of spin extractors. Additionally, it specifies the standards for double-lid appliances' protection against mechanical dangers and transforms relevant notes into normative text.
The standard's 2008 initial edition as well as its Amendments 1 (2012) and 2 (2017) are all included in this condensed form. Since this publication contains all the necessary modifications, there is no need to order additional amendments. It is crucial to remember that IEC 60335-1:2010 should also be read in order to fully understand the safety criteria for spin extractors used in home appliances.
