Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-4: Particular Requirements for Spin Extractors
Also Known As:
Specific safety standards for spin extractors used in home appliances and other comparable electrical equipment are outlined in the IEC 60335-2-4:2008+A1:2012 standard. Usually, washing machines with separate containers for washing and spin extraction have these spin extractors. The specification is applicable to machines having a maximum dry cloth capacity of 10 kg and a maximum drum peripheral speed of 50 m/s. For single-phase appliances, the rated voltage should not exceed 250 V, and for other appliances, it should not exceed 480 V.
The language has been adjusted to conform to the IEC 60335-1:2001 standard and its Amendments 1 and 2. This edition differs significantly from the previous one in this regard. Additionally, it specifies the standards for double-lid appliances' protection against mechanical dangers and changes relevant notes into normative text.
The sixth edition of the standard from 2008 and its Amendment 1 from 2012 are both included in one consolidated version, which eliminates the need to order the Amendment separately. The IEC 60335-1:2010 standard must be read in combination with this document.
