Floating leisure articles for use on and in the water - Part 7: Additional specific safety requirements and test methods for Class E devices
Also Known As:
A standard known as ISO 25649-7:2017 explicitly addresses additional safety specifications and testing procedures for Class E floating recreational items intended for use on and in water. These Class E devices are intended for use on shorelines that are safe and sheltered, such as bathing beaches. When combined with the ISO 25649-1 and ISO 25649-2 standards, the standard is applicable.
Canoes, kayaks, inflatable boats made of plastic sheets or other reinforced materials, inflatable boats for rowing or paddling, and motor kits or sail kits are examples of Class E devices described in Annex F of the standard.
These boats are frequently used for recreational activities, including getting from one place to another, relaxing on the water, or serving as tender boats to carry people and cargo from the shore to the main boat.
