AS/NZS 60335.2.79:2017 (IEC TEXT) PDF Download

The safety requirements and recommendations for high-pressure cleaners and steam cleaners are covered under the AS/NZS 60335.2.79:2017 (IEC TEXT) standard. These devices are designed for indoor and outdoor use by both commercial and residential users.

According to the specification, high-pressure cleaners without traction drives must have rated pressures between 2.5 MPa and 35 MPa. It also applies to components of hot-water high-pressure cleaners that have a steam stage, as well as steam cleaners themselves. These high-pressure hot water cleaners shall have a combined capacity and rated pressure of no more than 5 MPa, with a maximum capacity and rated pressure of no more than 100 liters and 2.5 MPa, respectively.

The 2017 edition of this standard replaces the previous edition, AS/NZS 60335.2.79:2012. It is the exact same as the IEC 60335-2-79, Ed. 4:2016 standard and contains all of its text. The implementation of the 2017 version is scheduled to begin on June 30, 2020.
