Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Part 2: Particular Requirements for Commercial Electric Water Boilers and Liquid Heaters
Also Known As:
The CAN/CSA-E335-2-63-94 (R2004) standard outlines safety precautions for commercial water boilers and liquid heaters that are powered by electricity and used to heat or boil liquids for brewing beverages.
This standard is only applicable to commercial appliances; it is not meant for use in homes. It includes the electrical component of gadgets that also use other sources of power. Appliances made specifically for industrial use, those with electrode heaters, and those meant for use in environments with unique requirements, such as those with an explosive or corrosive atmosphere, are not covered by this rule.
Appliances meant for use in cars, on ships, in aircraft, or in tropical regions may need to meet additional standards. The standard also acknowledges the possibility of additional requirements from national agencies in charge of labor, water, and health protection. It should be noted that there are certain specifications for pressure vessels in various nations.
