The goal of the standard is to address the frequent risks connected to these products.

The safety criteria for people with physical, sensory, or mental impairments who are unable to use the appliance safely without supervision or education are not considered in the standard. Additionally, it excludes youngsters from using these gadgets for play.

National committees are urged to give equipment manufacturers and testing facilities time to adapt to the new standards and carry out the required tests. Within 12 to 36 months after the standard's release, its recommendations should be adopted for nationwide implementation.
