Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-5: Particular Requirements for Dishwashers
Also Known As:
IEC 60335-2-5:2012+A1:2018 The safety standards for electric dishwashers used in homes and other comparable contexts are the focus of the CSV standard. The standard is applicable to dishwashers rated at no more than 480 V for other appliances and 250 V for single-phase appliances. It encompasses both standard household appliances and those employed by laypeople in retail establishments, small-scale manufacturing facilities, and farms. Dishwashers used for business purposes, however, are not included in the scope of this standard.
The standard tackles typical dishwasher risks that people in and around the home can run into. It lays out requirements to guarantee the appliances' safe use. However, it disregards people with physical, sensory, or mental impairments, as well as kids who lack the skills and knowledge needed to use the appliance properly without adult supervision or guidance.
This standard's sixth edition, which replaces the preceding fifth edition (2002), includes Amendment 1 (2018). The conversion of comments to normative text and the new switch issue criteria are two of the edition's most significant revisions. IEC 60335-1:2010 should be read in addition to the standard.
There is no need to order the amendment separately because this consolidated version includes both the sixth edition (2012) and Amendment 1 (2018). The standard also incorporates the information from the September 2019 Interpretation Sheet 1.
