Standard EN SampleHousehold and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-79: Particular Requirements for High Pressure Cleaners and Steam Cleaners
Also Known As:
The IEC 60335-2-79:2012 standard outlines the safety requirements for steam cleaners and high-pressure cleaners. This standard is applicable to indoor and outdoor, residential and commercial uses. The rated pressure ranges from 2.5 MPa to 35 MPa, and it covers high-pressure cleaners without traction drives.
Additionally, steam cleaners and specific components of hot water high-pressure cleaners that feature a steam stage are covered by the standard. These devices must have a maximum capacity of 100 l, a maximum rated pressure of 2.5 MPa, and a maximum capacity multiplied by the rated pressure of 5 MPa x l. There are no traction drives allowed.
For the high-pressure pump drive, the standard includes a wide range of power sources, including mains-powered motors, battery-powered motors, internal combustion engines, and hydraulic or pneumatic motors. This standard's third edition supersedes and replaces the second, which was released in 2002, and all of its updates.
A revised scope, current words and definitions, general standard adjustments to match contemporary needs, and the addition of new annexes for acoustical noise emission and vibration emission are just a few of the significant changes in the third version.
