Standard EN SampleHousehold refrigerating appliances: Characteristics and Test Methods - General Requirements
Also Known As:
An international standard called BS EN 62552-1:2020 outlines the key traits and testing procedures for home refrigeration equipment. Appliances cooled by forced air circulation or natural convection must adhere to the specification.
The standard's goal is to create type tests that evaluate the fundamental construction and functionality of refrigeration units. It excludes certification, conformity testing, and production sampling requirements. The verification testing regime is not specified by the standard because it can differ by country and location.
It is advised to execute all of the tests listed in the standard on a single device when examining the performance of a refrigerating appliance. To examine particular traits, however, one can also run individual tests.
The first version, which was released in 2007, is being replaced by the technical revision BS EN 62552-1:2020. In order to handle new testing requirements, improvements in product configurations, the use of electronic product controls, and computer-based test-room data gathering and processing equipment, the new edition has considerable technological changes. In order to allow additional flexibility, particularly when testing several appliances in a single test room, Part 1 of the standard also makes adjustments to the setup and equipment standards for test rooms.
