Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Part 2: Particular Requirements for Commercial Electric Multi-Purpose Cooking Pans
Also Known As:
The safety standards for commercially used electric multi-purpose frying pans are laid out in the CAN/CSA-E335-2-39-94 standard. This standard ensures the functioning and safety of cooking utensils not intended for family use.
The standard addresses the electrical elements of cooking utensils and takes into account how non-electrical elements affect electrical elements. Appliances that use other energy sources, including gas, are also included, as long as they have electrical components.
However, this standard does not apply to all cooking pans. Deep-fat fryers, continuous-process multipurpose frying pans used for mass food production, and equipment made for usage in locations with unique characteristics, such as corrosive or explosive atmospheres, are a few examples of these.
Cooking utensils designed for usage in automobiles, ships, aircraft, or tropical nations may need to meet additional specifications. It is significant to note that national authorities in charge of labor, water, and health regulations may impose more specifications in various nations.
