Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Part 2: Particular Requirements for Commercial Electric Hot Cupboards
Also Known As:
The safety criteria for electrically operated business appliances that are not intended for household use are outlined in the CAN/CSA-E335-2-49-94 standard. The standard covers a variety of appliances, including heated display cases, heated crockery dispensers, heated shelves, and heated tables, as well as hot cupboards with or without heated tops.
The standard's scope encompasses the electrical components of appliances that use other types of energy while taking into account how the non-electrical components affect the electrical components. Appliances used in the large-scale manufacturing of food or those intended for industrial usage are exempt from the standard.
Appliances designed for use outdoors, in vehicles, on ships, in aircraft, or in tropical regions may need to meet additional standards. It should be noted that in many nations, national authorities in charge of health, water supply, and labor protection may impose extra restrictions.
