Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-39: Particular Requirements for Commercial Electric Multi-Purpose Cooking Pans
Also Known As:
The safety criteria for electric commercial multi-purpose frying pans that are not meant for home use are outlined in the IEC 60335-2-39:2012+A1:2017 standard. When processing food for commercial use, these appliances are employed in commercial settings, including restaurants, canteens, and hospitals. The standard applies to appliances having a maximum rated voltage of 480 volts for other appliances and 250 volts for single-phase appliances. It also has allowances for appliances that are pressurized and have pressurized components.
The standard specifies requirements for these appliances' safe operation and addresses frequent hazards related to these kinds of equipment. As well as definitions for atmospheric multipurpose cooking, portable appliances, and rated pressure. It also outlines the permitted leakage current for portable class L appliances and offers recommendations for using multipurpose cooking pans. The standard also specifies construction testing, mechanical hazard testing, abnormal testing, construction standards for lids and their grips, and pressure relief placement. The design of fixed equipment that can be shifted forward and backward for cleaning is also covered.
National committees are urged to approve this publication's guidelines for implementation within 12 to 36 months after the publication date. IEC 60335-1:2010, which addresses general safety criteria for home appliances and other comparable electrical devices, should be read in conjunction with the standard. It is unnecessary to order the amendment individually because the sixth edition (2012) and its amendment 1 (2017) are both included in this consolidated version of the standard.
